Katherine Burton (katherine@lacunacoaching.com) is an executive coach who embraces humor, empathy, and honesty when coaching leaders who have a deep desire to grow. By challenging clients to identify and embody their values, discover their vision and be intentional in their choices, Katherine helps emerging leaders overcome the feeling of being overwhelmed and regain the sense of productivity lost in their professional journey.

Growing up in low-income housing with a single mother motivated Katherine to work to excel as a student and later as a professional working in investment banking on Wall Street. It was only after leaving the trading floor that Katherine realized the key to her success was not the financial acumen she developed, but the coaches she worked with along the way: the people in her life who allowed her to feel safe in taking risks and gave her questions instead of answers to support her personal growth. 

Katherine has lived and traveled throughout Latin America and the United States, developing her keen ability to listen for heart and meaning while coaching and cementing in her a deep appreciation of different points of view. Her formal training as an executive coach has allowed
her to build on this foundation by establishing key coaching tools and practices that foster tangible results for her clients.

Today, Katherine motivates leaders to achieve new levels of professional success by helping them redirect the course when it’s wrong and transform behaviors to seed sustainable teams and processes.

A native of Minneapolis and Hawaii, Katherine holds a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a graduate of the Executive Coaching Institute at the University of California at Berkeley.
